OkaQuiet serves as the uncoupling sheet, sound-deadening underlayment, crack isolation layer, and thermal barrier insulation, helping improve walking comfort, floor stability, and heating efficiency. Install over a clean, level, stable subfloor. Set OkaQuiet in compatible modified thin-set mortar with a 1/4x1/4x1/4" square-notched trowel in a staggered brick pattern, leaving a 3/16" perimeter gap at walls and vertical surfaces. After curing, tape seams with 3/8" masking tape for better sound reduction. Secure cable straps to the OkaQuiet board with a hot glue gun before installing the radiant heating cable. For self-leveling pours such as Servoplan KI 1, reinforce with Kiesel glass fiber additive. Proper encapsulation up to 3/8" creates a smooth surface, supports even heat transfer, reduces thermal loss, and can improve efficiency by up to 40%. The 5/32" OkaQuiet board is lightweight, plastic-free, VOC-free, and made with 90% post-consumer recycled content. It can be cut, scored, or sawn for easy fitting around layouts, doorways, drains, and transitions. Compatible with concrete, plywood, and cement board, it supports ceramic tile, porcelain, granite, marble, onyx, quartzite, gneiss, mosaic tile, and approved engineered wood or hardwood flooring suitable for heated floors.
