Adhesive Adhesive nose pads are used on plastic frames without a mount, sticking where the glasses rest on your nose. GMS Optical’s adhesive pads, made with 3M adhesive, offer long-lasting hold. They come in silicone or foam and various shapes, detailed in the next section. Push-In Push-in nose pads are designed to fit into rectangular hole. They should not be used with J-hooks or screw mounts. The pads themselves come in various styles and shapes, compatible with this mount type. Screw-In Screw-in nose pads are secured with a small screw in a rectangular mount. GMS screw-in pads include screws and a driver, but it's wise to keep the original screws. The pads come in various styles and shapes. Slide-In Slide-in nose pads are characterized by a lifted tabletop piece on their backside, with a small lip on the outer edge. The glasses have a hairpin or J-hook design that the round protrusion slides into. While some brands suggest using them in push-in mounts, the difficult installation makes this impractical. GMS Optical recommends using them exclusively for slide-in mounts.
