Product description The Better Masa Company All About the Corn Our masa harina (nixtamalized corn flour) is made from just two ingredients: heirloom (non-GMO) corn and slaked lime (key to unlocking cornβs nutritional value). Gluten-free, no preservatives. 100% Made in Mexico Our heirloom corn is grown by a network of 2,000 smallholder farmers and then cooked, dehydrated, and milled in Mexico for a product that tastes of its tierra. Just Add Water Making fresh tortillas at home is as easy as combining a cup of masa harina with a cup of water, then pressing and cooking on the stove. Ready in minutes! Beyond Tortillas Masa is the foundation of so many delicious dishes: tortillas and tacos, quesadillas, tamales, pupusas, sopes, arepas and more! Fresh Tortillas in Minutes Mix 1 cup masa harina with 1 cup warm water. (Add a pinch of salt if you desire.) Add more masa if itβs too wet, more water if it's too dry. Knead until your masa is smooth (3-5 minutes). Optional: Let your masa rest (covered) for 10-20 minutes. Roll your masa into balls about the size of golf balls. Flatten a dough ball using a tortilla press lined with plastic. Remove from liner and place on a hot (400-500Β°F) non-stick surface. Cook for 20-30 seconds on each side, flipping three times. Remove and keep warm in a kitchen towel or tortilla warmer. Provecho!
