Veins will appear as shadows or dark lines that will appear on the periphery of the device that glows red. Note: The device must be in contact with the skin when looking for veins. Taking light out of the skin will not show anything! Step 3 : Once the vein is found (dark shadows/lines), relocate the infrared light around this area to get the best visual acuity. If the vein is shallower to the surface, the light source may have to be moved further because it may be too bright and cover the vein.
