German Cornflower Petals with their amazingly blue color make THE perfect topping for your latte/smoothie. Use them in tea blends, gifts or bath products. The blue cornflowers (Centaurea cyanus) grow in cultivation in Germany. After the blooming of the cornflower blossoms, the whole plant is harvested and dried. The drying of the whole plant preserves the bright blue color of the cornflower blossoms. After drying, the stem is removed and only the tubular petals of the cornflower blossoms remain. We then pack these beautiful cornflower blossom petals in our doypacks at 0.35oz/10g each, label them and ship them right to your doorstep – the petals are 100% pure, natural and receive no additional treatment after harvest. Cornflower blossoms contain anthocyanins, flavonoids and bitter substances. Cornflower blossoms are used in herbal tea or in ointments. For a cornflower blossom tea, 1-2 teaspoons of cornflower petals are poured with 8.5 fl oz/250ml of hot water and allowed to steep for 10 minutes. The cornflower blossom tea has a floral taste. The cornflower blossoms are free from harmful substances and can be stored for at least 24 months from the production date.
